Treasury management is the management of an enterprise's holdings, with the ultimate goal of managing the firm's liquidity and mitigating its operational, financial and reputational risk.
A treasurer has a broad range of responsibilities in the modern corporation ranging from cash management to risk management. Further, the treasurer is responsible for the proper movement of potentially large amounts of funds and the construction of hedges, which call for the integration of a comprehensive set of set of controls in a broad-based framework.
This 2 day course explores the scope and techniques used by the treasurer and the treasury department!
- We learn the various methods on how an organisation handles and manages cash and working capital.
- We cover what the treasurer does to raise debt and Equity as well as how to invest funds and the effects on the cost of capital.
- We learn the basics of Financial markets and risks associated when operating in and raising or investing Funds
- We address an increasingly important aspect of treasurer responsibility which is risk management. This includes the objectives and strategies of both interest rate, FX management, as well as the available risk mitigation tools that are available by the treasurer. We focus also on some technical aspects of the treasury management job such as clearing and settlement and Custody.

This course is open to anyone who needs a clear understanding on treasury management, the tools used, the financial instruments of raising liquidity, how to operate in these markets and the dinancial instruments for risk managment. You could be working either as new recruit or as experienced staff with new responsibilities, wanting to broaden your perspectives by adding this knowledge and wider management skills.
What you will learn

The course will examine the most commonly used methods used by the treasurer, the way in which risk products and derivatives are used, the growing importance of these products as well as the current regulatory and compliance issues.
